Mat Johnson Receives 2026 Outstanding Chair Award

Mat Johnson was surprised with the inaugural Outstanding Chair Award at the College Chairs and Directors meeting on May 6, 2026.  This award recognized the outstanding contributions of a department chair or director who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, collaboration, and commitment to advancing the mission of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

 Mat was interim chair of the mathematics department for academic year 2022-2023 and became chair for 2023 to 2027.
