Gloria Prothe Receives 2026 Dean's Staff Excellence Award

Gloria Prothe was presented with the 2026 Dean’s Staff Excellence Award at the College Chairs and Directors meeting on May 6, 2026.  This award is the most prestigious honor for staff, presented annually to an exemplary staff member who has demonstrated dedicated years of service within higher education and the College of Liberal Arts & Science and who personifies the IRSE values:  Integrity, Respect, Innovation, Stewardship and Excellence.

The recipient of the award is someone who selflessly gives of their time and experience and who has built and maintained collaborative relationships within the College and across other schools and units demonstrating continuous effort towards the University of Kansas’ mission “To educate leaders, build healthy communities, and make discoveries that change the world.”

Gloria has worked at KU for over 45 years, beginning in 1980 at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department.  She moved to the Department of Mathematics in 1985 and has served as the Office Manager since then.
