Professional Information

Research Interests

  • Numerical Analysis & Dynamical Systems.
    • More specifically, I am interested in the stability spectra (Lyapunov exponents & Sacker-Sell spectra) of infinite dimensional dynamical systems. By developing perturbation analysis results, we obtain quantifiable error bounds on the stability spectra of such systems. As an application, we obtain error bounds on the stability spectra of certain PDE problems.
    • The numerical computation of the zeros of the Evans function of certain PDE problems to study the stability of asymptotically periodic traveling wave solutions and connecting orbits.
    • Developing continuation methods, along with robust numerical algorithms, to compute the global Lyapunov exponents. Also of interest is the application of these ideas to the study of weather models.
