Graduate Students' Research

The research of our graduate students

As soon as the students have taken a few preparatory courses an chosen and advisor, they begin mathematical research.

We encourage more advanced students to become active in research math and interdisciplinary seminars and to attend our weekly colloquium which brings in speakers from outside the university. Sometimes students organize their own graduate seminars.

Our students interact one-to-one with their advisors, and it is not unusual for Ph.D. students to publish research articles before graduating.

We also encourage and support our students to attend national meetings and, depending on funds available, some international conferences too.

The page Research Areas has a list of the fields of interest of our faculty and links to several research groups. A list of the weekly talks can be found at the Seminars and Colloquia page.
